Did Advanced Auto Parts buy out Carquest? I noticed they are selling Carquest oil filters.

Yes, about 2 years ago.

AAP switched most of their products over to CQ. Oil, filters, brake pads, etc. There are still independent Carquest stores, but few and far between.

Are the oil filters still made by Wix?

They are made by Purolator now.

FWIW I've still been able to find some NOS CQ filters manufactured by Wix at AAP stores that were formerly CQ locations still open in my area. If you're able to do the same, keep in mind you can use the AAP discount codes on-line for any NOS Wix manufactured CQ stuff you find.

No, but Advance Auto Parts did.

The Carquest Reds that were Fram made were a steal, I no sooner got started using them though and they switched to Puro.

I go there because it is handy, but there is nothing Advanced about them.
