Advance Auto oil

Just went into Advance auto for the 3rd time ever and noticed they have their own brand of oil. Does anybody buy this stuff?

Yes but not b/c it is secretly Havoline. It is not. It is made by Coastal. Do a search for more info.

Coastal is owned by Warren Petroleum (not the Wally World distributors). Although I've bought the oil, I think the Havoline statements on the bottle are highly unethical.

I dunno if a VOA was ever done on the stuff, but if it' SM, has the API star, all that, other than a possibly weak additive-pack, it's, well, SM. Good oil, right?

Given Warren Oil's (now, "Warren-Unilube" - and neither to be confused with "Warren Performance Products") forays into mislabeling sanctions, I'd assume nothing about their products, TC2Y. There are established products that are to be had for the same or less money.

I used it in my push mower to flush it out before pouring in GC. the stuff made my engine run rough. I thought it was going to fly apart. drained it out and put the GC in and ran smoothed almost like it wasnt running. so if it makes my push mower run like that. I wont be running out to put it in my truck.
