I like knowing what the outside temperature is when I'm driving. But my Durango doesn't have a built in thermometer/temp. display. So I'm finally looking into adding one. I'm considering one like I have in my house that includes a remote sensor that feeds a display I'd keep in the cab. Or, if it was priced right, I'd consider buying one made specifically as an aftermarket add on for cars and trucks. So far, searches haven't yielded much.

I know y'all are a smart, thrifty bunch so I'd be dumb not to as for your opinions before I make a move. Thanks.

(Wasn't quite sure what forum to post in...doesn't seem like a mechanical question. Hope this one is fine.)

What year is your Durango?

Lots of the Dakota/Durango guys install the overhead console which has the outside temp. I did in my '00 Dak. It's only a couple of wires.

Easy.

First step, off to the boneyard to find a console. Most of the wiring is in place. I've seen custom made harnesses available that will eliminate you having to cut/splice anything.

Thanks, Dan. Hadn't even thought about being able to add a console. I'll do some reading and searching and see what I can find out. That would def. be option #1.
