Installing Napa adaptive one pads on my wife's 2008 MDX and wondering if I need to use grease on both sides of the included shims?

I know from metal shim to caliper put grease on, how about between the shim and the backing plate of the pad?

Thank you

Acura requires it for the OE pads, but they require Molykote M77 which is NOT regular syn brake caliper grease. The OE shim setup was likely designed for this.

Since the Adaptive 1 pads do not require this, I probably would not do it since I would not want to risk the shims coming off? I say this because I remember the last set of adaptive 1 pads to have shims attached rather tightly (compared to the Honda OE pads) so I don't know if I would want to "disturb" that and risk problems later.

Aftermarket pads don't use grease.
Rarely, anti squeal sauce can be applied if there is a squeak.
but shims seem to work well without any additional sauces.
