Evening all,

I recently purchased a 2014 Isuzu D-Max 2WD Hi-rider dual cab, which was a fleet vehicle of one of my former employers, through my friend and service manager ex-colleague.

Serendipitously, I was borrowing it to get around while my wife was using my car (while her i30 was being repaired - both cats had failed, but that's another expensive story).
I was impressed with how tight it drove, and over the fortnight I had it and how clean the engine bay was, considering it had 200,000km, no service books (only a recent service sticker on the window), and looked otherwise like a neglected work ute covered in company decals.

He told me in passing he was considering selling it (he only recently acquired it himself), which piqued my interest, as did the very modest asking price.
Coincidentally, while the i30 was off the road, my Commodore also broke down while my wife was driving home one evening, and had to be towed home (which I believe it to have a fried ECU, but yet to confirm this, as I am weighing up the repair cost vs offloading it running or not running).

So, now with zero cars of our own on the road at the time, and a less than impressed wife and daughter to consider, the interest in owning the D-Max became a reality, and once money changed hands I was the owner of my ex-employers fleet ute, still in workplace livery.

After a week of afternoons after work removing decals and polishing the (very) dull white paintwork, it has come up nicely, with only minor paint blemishes and a neglected dent in the A-pillar to take care of.

I am most impressed with the 4JJ1s fuel economy, which at last fill was ~7.6L/100km, without the Liqui-Moly Diesel Purge Plus fuel treatment added this tank. I am expecting better results at next fill.
No real plans to do anything to it aside from maybe a new radio, some slightly larger rims, and a better breathing exhaust.

I'm looking forward to putting many more miles on it.
