Does the same apply to Xylene and Tolulene;

i.e.; are they just as harmful/corrosive to everything as Acetone is in higher concentrations??

I think they are worse!

E85 has both so it can't be harmful.

E10 98 ---> 10% ethanol and 90% gasoline
isooctane 100
benzene 101
propane 103 ---> LPG component

E85 105 ---> 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline
CNG 107
LPG 108
heptane 108
methanol 113
toluene 114 ---> component of lacquer thinner
ethanol 116 ---> ethylic alcohol
xylene 117 ---> component of lacquer thinner

Nothing like 100 ml of benzene in 10 gallons of gas to beat spark knock.

hmm bit difficult to get hold of though. Not sure if my local drugs store would stock it.

Overdose the acetone, and you may indeed see problems.
Use normal dilutions, and you won't.
Try a little [in your situation] in your car.
It may help - don't count on it, and don't expect miracles.
