I'm more interested in improving the quality to avoid detonation and improve idling etc.
my car pings easily even with premium (name used very loosely!) with boosters but tests have revealed both fuels, super and premium, are of equally bad quality.
The boxer is very picky with the fuel and you feel and hear the difference.
But I'm very concerned about the acetone attacking carb parts (diaphragms, o-rings), electric fuel pumps and fuel lines etc.
Thinking of doing some lab tests with some old parts soaked in a mixture of acetone and fuel to see if anything is adversely affected.
Nothing like 100 ml of benzene in 10 gallons of gas to beat spark knock.
hmm bit difficult to get hold of though. Not sure if my local drugs store would stock it.
