What is an acceptable amount of oil consumption in a small OPE engine?

I recently put Rotella 15w40 in my rototiller's Tecumseh HH60. Since then I have tilled for approximately 12 hours in 60-70°F weather, at medium to high throttle. I'm sure there were slight sampling differences in my dipstick checks (the engine is not mounted flat, and the ground underneath could have been sloped) but I've needed to add an additional 2 ounces since the oil change.

Thoughts?

Troyb43, is correct. I have service manuals that state ope aircooleds when operated in high temps under moderate loads at speed may consume oil at a rate that will exceed crank capacity several times over a oci interval.
I have a vanguard vee-twin 12.5hp, twenty years of heavy usage and it burn one pint every seventy-five hour service.

Kc

Don't be concerned at one ounce every five to six hours .
