I'm looking at a used 2008 Caravan and the AC flex lines where they go from flex to metal appear to be oily. There is no oil elsewhere but the lines are definitely wet. The AC works.
Has anyone seen this before?

Yes, it must be leaking refrigerant as well. I would have thought that if it's leaking to the point of showing oil, then it would be a large leak and I'm surprised it's still working.

Not so.. I'm on my 7th. Dodge Caravan. Non of them ever leaked. I am currently repairing a 94 GC with 240K on it. AC is original and still blows cold.

If the van has oil seepage, it has a leak. The PO put a can of gas in it to get it sold.

Make sure that you are low, and get a can with some UV dye, or have a shop evac and recharge and install dye. Be sure of the leak.

Thanks for all the input.
I will factor this leak into the equation should it decide to make an offer. There are plenty of other vehicles for sale too. All the Chrysler vans from 2007 to 2011 are rusting like crazy here in Toronto.

That's a darn shame. Those vans are just so handy. I call mine an APV, (All Purpose Vehicle).
