Here's 2 Delco top end cleaners. I know the left black cap is a spray. The stuff on right,is all liquid. Do you pour it in gas tank? Slowly let you brake suck it in? Or is it meant to be a piston soak?its pricey..Amazon $42! Called local Buick dealer, they don't have oil,or gas additive..it would have to be third party ordered with boss ok.
I ordered the spray stuff.wanna try it! And the gas additive part number 88865595

Decades ago - the liquid top end cleaner was poured slowly in the carburetor - until you got to about half the bottle, then you rapidly poured it in and let it choke the engine out.

Let sit for 15 minutes (a piston soak, I reckon) and start the engine back up.

Be prepared for a lot of smoke.

I would imagine the application hasn't changed much - the idea being to end up with some liquid on the piston tops for a bit.

Oh! So the right image is basically a car cleaner?
I bought 2 cans of the left image.funny use INE vacuum line before oil change coming soon.normally Ive been using stp ,that $40 hand from good brake cleaner. 9 minutes empty.sit 15. Much shorter than crc intake bro cleaner, leaving it soak 2 hours. The Delco spray on left,is a15 minute sit thing.

The old GM TEC(also sold as Motorcraft Carburetor Tune-Up Cleaner, Mopar Combustion Chamber Cleaner and Valvetech Power Head Treatment) is a pretty decent carbon solvent - it was naphtha, oleic acid, ammonium hydroxide and butyl cellosolve as far as I know.

Got it in today.heres ingredients on back.
Heavy,light,medium cleaner?
Planning on running it through vacuum line or past MAS sensor 98 LeSabre before oil change.i saved a metal hook looking attachment off a stp intake cleaner, try n wedge it between throttle n gasket n spray ac Delco stuff in.if not read top of plenum, vacuum line.

Is your LeSabre having starting, running, or driveability issues? Or are you doing this as preventive maintenance?

That is the ACDelco top end cleaner that is meant to be sprayed into the intake manifold using a pressure can and a fine mist spray nozzle. With todays high compression engines trying to use a vacuum hose to suck in cleaner is a great way to shatter a piston. We've replaced at least twenty engines from that. If you do use the suck method, make sure that the largest straw in the can is no bigger than the tube from an aerosol can and NEVER let the engine fall below 2000 RPM. If the engine starts to slow down pull the straw out of the fluid before destroying the engine!!
If you want to see how we do it at my shop you can search for GM technical bulletin 16-NA-383.
