GM 6.6 L8T gas engine in 2021 GMC Sierra 3500HD, 4950 miles almost all towing 6500 lb travel trailer lots of elevation with higher rpms. Used about 1/2 quart of ESP 5W-30. I see nothing wrong with these filters and there wasn't a bit of glitter in the pleats.

Run them on our newer Tahoe and went through a case on the older Tahoe - the ADBV is AEM - as are much of the elastomers on vehicles … holds the U-tube every time …

Does that 6.6 pull strong? Seriously considering this engine in a 2500 GMC soon.
i love the 6.6L L8T. pulls great and drives unloaded like a diesel, gobs of low end power for a gasser. just have to be careful of buying them used. if they were abused early, i cannot make them stop burning oil. none of the units we purchased new burn any considerable amount of oil in 12k miles on HPL 5w-30/40 but most of the used units (bought with 15-20k miles on them) burn oil and no amount of HPL has fixed it. i would strongly recommend a well cared after unit that is still a 6l90e truck. i dont trust the 10 speed long term and i hate the shift programming. really revs the 6.6L out just driving around town versus the 6 speed that drives more diesel like.

Thanks. Good tips. Apparently the used ones must have been pushed too long with the factory fill oil??

Yes it does. I pull the trailer at 65 on the highway, in 6th it will hold on too long starting uphill then downshift 2 gears usually. 65 in 6th is 1600 rpm, I drive in 5th at 2100 rpms and it's just happier, shifts how you think it should. Our trailer isn't very heavy but it's fairly tall and over 30k miles of towing all around the neighboring states and to Fla and Pa it had averaged exactly 10 mpg. Lots of elevation here so happy with that. I think the Oil Life Monitor was showing 30% when I changed oil.

Smooth leaf spring sealing area. Can't quite make out the date code, has to be before Apr 2025 of course.

Thanks. Positive response. I’ve always changed oil at 30 to 35 percent in my current GMC.
