Is Wal Mart dropping Delco oil filters?I saw the pf 52 and another number on the clearance shelf tonight.

It isn't at the closest wally world to where I live.
AC Delco is switching to E-core so you might as well buy the SuperTech.
Many filter companies are consolidating filters. The larger versions are being phased out and being replaced with smaller filters with the same part number or the part number is being superseded.
Don't be surprised if you look up your PF52 equipped engine and find a PF52 the size of a PF47 in the box or the catalog is changed to say PF47. Modern oil in a well cared for engine stays so clean that even the PF47 could be considered too large.
The Baldwin B35S is still full size. Many filter companies are consolidating at the same time so it might be at the direction of car companies. The car companies buy more than the rest of us, and sometimes more than the rest of us combined so what the car companies buy mostly determines what we can buy and the price we can get it for. If they say that they will no longer equip any engine with the PF52 and that the PF47 is the OEM blessed substitute for all existing PF52 applications that's a strong encouragement for every filter company to drop it ASAP.

They dropped the PF52 and PF47 at mine.
Killing time this morning at Wally's. They had the PF 52 and PF 1280 both on clearance for $2.50. Could it be an AC thing? What is happening elsewhere?

According the emails from Champ, ac has GM specced media.

they even red tagged the 5w-30 Mobil 1 EP 5 quart jugs at mine.
There is no way you can have wider aisles and lower shelves without reducing what you stock. If forced to pay more elsewhere for Mobil 1, maybe I can at least find 0w-30.
The PF52 is gone from my WM. The AC Delco shelf is getting pathetic.

i stopped buying the a/c delco pf-52 when they changed the design
