AC Delco oil filter question

Does anyone know if AC Delco Duraguard oil filters come with a silicone ADBV and any by-pass valve? Can't seem to find this info anywhere, even on AC Delcos' Site.

Just wondering if it's comparable to a Wix but with a lower price tag.

it all depends on whom AC Delco is buying their filters from.
currently I've seen AC Delco's being made by Champion Labs.. easy to identify because of their E-Core design. these have nitrile ADBV.
when delco's were being made by Wix they were also nitrile, but used the Wix guts.
the E-Core is a good filter, but I wouldn't push it to 7500miles like a Wix could easily handle.

It depends on the number of the filter and if it's an E-Core or not. But not all classics will have a ADBV. All the E-Cores I've seen so far have a combo drain back/by-pass valve made from nitrile rubber.

I just bought (today actually) a PF47 in the classic design that has a nitrile valve as well.

its not a great filter. stick with wix/napa gold, bosch, or anything purolator.

if you want to save money try the napa proselect. its like $3 and made by wix. or the purolator classic $3

Delco Classics are a great filter, construction on par with Wix, but better efficiency.
The ADBV is nitrile, but they have always held well for me.
Thicker can than a Purolator/Bosch for sure also.

I use NAPA Gold, but Delco filters are good, tested for 200,000 miles in a Corvette.

I will never use an AC Delco filter again after having 2 fail on me. Some of you may remember my posts on the 2 seperate incidents about 1 year apart.

Used to be all I used, now I use Bosch or similiar.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Sorry it happened to you, but a great learning opportunity for me. Think I'll stick with wix after all the posts on here describing nitrile adbv and your experience "pushed me over the edge."
