So today I noticed my ac wasn't working and it appears the ac compressor isn't cycling. Any ideas? I'm not too familiar with ac, but I know the compressor won't turn on if the system is low on Freon. I'm assuming it could have a leak anywhere? This is on my truck.

Do I need one of those clamp meters to check? I only have the probe style.

As far as checking for voltage is concerned, is one prong going to be the negative and the other the positive?

If it has two prongs. Some only have the 12+ and use the compressor body for ground.

If it does have 12+, plug it in and with the engine running and AC on use a stick to push in on the center of the clutch. Of course be careful of the belts. If it kicks in then the clutch gap is off.
