I have been doing some research on here and the internet and have come to see that I should more than likely do an ATF change at 30,000 miles.
I seen on the http://www.handa-accessories.com/ They have the ATF and recommend changing it often too.
I have the Official Honda Service Manual and seen how to do the change. At the end it says to reset the Maintenance Minder System after the change. It says that if the System doesn't say to change to hook up HDS and reset it that way. I have no access to that since I will be doing the change myself, so does it really matter about resetting that?

Also how many of you are changing it at 30,000 miles? Or another set of miles?

I really want to take care of this CR-V, and I am learning as much as I can so I can do a lot of the work myself. So any extra help with this would be great thanks!

Also, the drain plug washers for the Transmission the same as the ones I bought to do the oil changes?

Adding another question lol : Is there a transmission filter to change too? If so How often should that be changed? The Transmission chapter in the manual is HUGE!! I'm trying to find it, but no luck just yet.

Never mind found the filter section, no need for any help with that. It has all the info I needed.

The transmission drain plug washers are NOT the same as the ones for the engine oil drain plug. You do not need to replace the washer at every fluid change, even though you are supposed to.

At the first fluid change, the plug is on very tight. I needed a 2' breaker bar to break the plug loose. Make sure your 3/8" drive is in all of the way or else you'll "round out" the 3/8" drive slot.

I would change the fluid annually or every 15,000 miles, whichever comes first. Do one drain and refill with the dealer ATF-Z1 fluid. Use the dealer fluid at least until the warranty expires. There is no need to do a flush or triple drain and refill (unless you just want to) if you keep refreshing the fluid often enough.

Every 30,000 miles may not be often enough. I changed the fluid yesterday on a '09 Fit with 36k and you can see from this picture, the difference between the old fluid and the new fluid. The new fluid is pink and the old fluid is the brown stuff. And the black stuff is the goo from the magnetic plug:

Also, I have discovered that the manual's listed refill capacity is not accurate with the newer Hondas. The manual listed 2.7 qt for the Fit, but it took exactly 3 quarts. So plan on buying an extra 1/2 qt of fluid just in case.

Ok thank you so much! Maybe I'll do it every 20,000 miles and do it at the same time as I do my Oil Change. Get them both done at the same time. Thanks for the picture too!

I am definitely going to use the Honda ATF for now until the warranty runs out. Then I was thinking about getting some Mobile 1 Synthetic ATF.

Drain and refill every 20k with Z-1 until you're out of warranty. Then do a complete flush with Amsoil ATF and repeat every 50k or so.

It doesn't matter about the MM, except that later the system can be scanned and it will show when you reset it( or didn't reset it ). Better to reset it, so take the time to learn how, it can't be too difficult.

You can only user-reset a subcode in the Maintenance Minder system if it is being displayed. Otherwise, in order to reset an individual subcode, you will need the HDS or an equivalent aftermarket scan tool. If you decide to drain and refill the transmission every 15,000 miles or annually, then I would not worry about what the Maintenance Minder says in regards to ATF.
