Yes, wussification. Distance runners, cyclists, cross country, and tennis are all tiring too, but there isn't one competitor that I've ever heard of being referred to as a tough guy. You need contact, get hit, bang bodies, feel some pain. That is sports. Soccer may have a little of that, but no where near what basketball, football, and hockey do.
