A reason not to pre-fill an oil filter

I didn't read page 2, so I have no idea if this has been mentioned, but...

If you spilled Valvoline Restore and Protect on your clothes have no worry. Its the only oil on the market that will clean ring packs, so its already got all the detergent you need!!!

Or - you'll always look good on your next oil changes.

I'd suggest brake cleaner as previously suggested. To address concerns of dye removal from the fabric, test it on the hem of the garment.
I also have used full strength simple green. Put a rag between the front and back of it, spray liberally on the garment and use an old toothbrush going with the weave of the fabric to work it in. Amusingly, my wife will always hand me the stained clothes assuming I can always get whatever out.

With a fluid extractor, and a top mounted filter, perhaps I would attempt an oil change in nice clothes…but still…

I tend to do other services - tire rotation, fluid check, etc. - when doing the oil change. So, I know that I am getting dirty anyway.

I would wait a few hundred miles until I had the time to do all of them, and to put on my “work” clothes - older pants, t-shirts, shirts, etc.

I have had good luck treating oil stains by applying liquid Tide to the stain and scrubbing it in with a brush prior to washing..

Purple stuff in a spray bottle on the laundry room shelf for pre treating my stuff.
Do you thing any dealership, shop or oil change joint ever prefills filters when doing oil changes ?

Been there done that, lost a good shirt because the wind suddenly wanted to gust up whilst the oil was flowing out. Was good up until that moment, hrmph.

It's BITOG. 🤷‍♂️ It's a legit question.
Dawn straight from the bottle, work it in, rinse with warm to moderately hot water.
Brake Parts Cleaner and acetone will remove the color dyes of some clothing.

P&G markets Dawn as being used to clean up animals affected by oil/fuel spills.
