A quick word about pink CD2

Just changed my oil - wonderful experience. Added my first bottle of pink CD2. One thing ya'll might want to keep in mind if you're stocking up - some of the additive has settled to the bottom of the bottle. What I did was pour the additive in the motor, then poured a few ounces of oil into the bottle and did the "shake, shake, shake." (It was more like "wave, wave, wave" - back and forth). Took about twenty minutes but it all mixed up with the oil and went into the motor. Next time I think I'll use a little MMO in the bottle.

Not sure if I'd put the MMO in the crankcase..

Solvents there aren't a good idea at the start of an OCI..

IMHO MMO is too weak to make a difference either way. Especially just a few ounces.

That's the reason I wanted to use MMO - just say maybe two ounces so the solvents would better break up what has settled to the bottom of the bottle. Just a thought.

I just tried shaking a full bottle of this stuff. It's kinda like trying to mix some fresh herbs stuck at the bottom of a bottle of honey. Groucho may actually have a good idea.

Wow, what good is that CD2 if it can't keep the bottle clean

All kidding aside, if you warm the bottle(hot tap water or leave it out in the sun), any additives that settle out will more quickly blend back in. I guess that we are all hoping that the motor oil's additive package will keep everything suspended otherwise your oil pan will have some super additives sticking to it. I guess that the oil pan will never wear out

undummy - great idea. Changed oil in my second truck today, put a bottle of CD2 pink on the dashboard and let it sit there all afternoon so it would get good and hot - worked like a charm. Thanks.

Frank recommends hot water for ARX, probably not a bad idea.
