I would love to see one as well. I'm just not willing to spend money on a UOA for a $200 mower.

My bet is that they are VERY rough on oil.

I bet the oil looks maple syrup with glitter in it. Change that oil for them!

How many are using synthetic oil, what kind, and does anyone use a gasoline additive? I use GC drained from my car, that's on 5k oci's.

Mobil one.... and stabil and marvel mystery oil for additives.. (my test dummy gets anything from octane boosters to old bottled 2 cycle oil) the oil for that will be a mix of anything.... next fill on that will be a WHOLE bottle of cd2 stop leak (I don't need it) and some straight 30 weight. You use drained oil from your car?

I have been told the air cooled engines are about the hardest on motor oils that you can throw at them. On that same subject,I was useing my Cub Cadet "2145" hydro (14 HP single Onan) quite hard today, and stopped to get a cold drink,Meanwhile I took my hand held infra temp gun and shot around my hot engine,WOW the sump was well over 300 degrees! with the oil filter itself at 303 degrees!!! I use this mower very hard, but really it is real dependable.I run Mobil 1(15W-50)I would say this temp. would break down a non syn. oil very quickly. what are your thoughts? Gregg/Ohio

I use Amsoil 10W30 in my riding mower and change the oil and filter every October. Maybe this year I'll do a UOA and see how it is holding up.

I have an hour meter sitting in my shop that I should really hook up to the mower. I mow 3 acres twice a week, it takes roughly 2 hours to mow, giving me 4 hours a week from April to November.

Hum...that's 128 hours a season.
