a new idea for oil companies

hello, this is my first post on these forums, simply because I was directed here by a friend to ask a few questions I'm sure you oil people can answer, I hope! Let me start off by explaining my background. I am a Subaru fanatic, I love them through and through. I had the chance to get involved with a guy producing a friction modifying oil/grease. He told me almost everything about it how it works, whats in it, and all the fun stuff that I'll need to really get my idea moving.

Recently he decided that some parts I had stored in his garage were in his way, threatening to throw them away, and not letting me on the property to retrieve them, he went off the deep end a little bit. Also during the same time he lied to a Subaru club member, saying that the engine in the car that the club member had just been rebuilt by him. When in reality he had just taken it apart for an inspection, and put it back together with used parts!

That long story aside, the reason I came to Bob is the oil guy, is to ask if anybody knows of any companies that want to buy information and samples of this oil/friction modifyier. If I get a company interested I will send them samples and information, they can analyze it to their liking and test it to see what it truly is. I'd almost want to enter into a contract with them just so I have assurance that I will get paid for the information and samples if the company sees everything to their liking.

Thank you for reading, I hope to find a company that will take this product into the next stage of production, it really is a good product and it works well. The man behind it did engineer it well. But a company with a team of engineers can put it to use.
 
Let me see if I follow. This guy you know is producing a friction modifier and has recently "gone off the deep end". Now, you want to get a sample (probably without his knowledge) and send it to an oil company to see if they'd like to produce it themselves while giving you a percentage. Is this correct?

That's what I read too. Not a good start.

i dont honestly want a percentage of anything. i more or less want this product to be developed. a "finder's fee" of sorts would be nice. but i mostly just want to find a company.

i also already have samples.

Unless he got really creative and swapped in the 3.9L G6 GTP motor... no.
 
There are companies that sell oil additives to companies that produce oils. And there are some very special additives already in wide use.

On this site GC is the first oil that I think of regarding an oil with special additives. From what I have read here on BITOG and from some reading on other sites: GC has 5 percent special additive that is a slippery molecule with a viscosity of about 200. This additive is produced by a company in Japan, and the company that mixes GC is in Germany, and GC is then sold by a company (Castrol) here in the united states.

In general the rule of thumb is that you don't knock on their door. You wait for them to knock on you door.

That said, If you were to make some YouTube videos of this additives at work, perhaps you may get someone from one of those companies knocking on your door.

it may seem a bit unethical, but the guy deserves it in all honesty.

at this point I just want the product to be given to a company that will produce it and be successful.

Maybe I will just put the information on this forum and let whoever have at it

No, it's a 3.9. '06 Monte came with a 3.5, 3.9, or 5.3.

Stealing somebody else's work and giving it away? I dont care if the person has gone of the deep end. That is highly unethical and a **** move on all accounts. If its his product that he developed why do YOU care about its success?

well im just going to put the information here, Anybody that wants to take this idea and run with it, or knows a company that will put this product into production with correct engineering and testing, let me know, i have samples and can send them out.

The main two ingredients in this oil additive are hexagonal boron nitride and molybdenum disulfide. They act as a dry lubricant inside the mixture and they coat the metal inside the application with a nanotube construction.
it was believed to take the coefficient of friction down by more than 30%
The two main ingredients act together to coat the application, I was told they are stronger than the metal itself. They ARE metal in reality, very tiny particles that bind to the metal and coat it.

at one point the guy showed me two pistons with pins in them.
both were completely dry no oil on them.
one was coated with this dry lubricant and then cleaned with brake cleaner.
the uncoated pin would barely move in the piston.
the coated pin would fall out onto the floor if you tilted the piston 15 degrees to either side.

the reason an actual company needs to put this into production themselves after a lot of testing is because Most people who have run this in their cars have seen improvement. there have been cases where a low mileage car had a grinding show up after use.
I believe that is due to the fact that the mixture isn't the same throughout production because the guy is making it in a garage outside his house.

Like i have said, i don't want money for the stuff anymore, i want it to be put into production because it is a great product. contact me if a company wants a sample for testing.

Oil companies have already been using those additives for a long time....moly disulfide is actually old new as there is a news better kind called trinuclear moly.
