A good lube for car door hinges?

I use a small disposable foam paint brush soaked in motor oil. Don't get carried away, if you get too much on the brush just squeeze the oil out of the foam. In the summer I use Mobil 1 15w50, and 5w20 in the winter. Also use this method on garage door hinges and door hinges around the house. Cheers! DV

One of the best spray lubricants I have ever used and continue to use is made by Drummond American Corporation. The spray lube is called Aero Prizm Gel Lubricant.

It starts out thin as water and when the carrier fluid evaporates it dries to a super stringy teflon oil gel. Best spray lubricant I have ever used.

I use SL-10 from MPC. It is light oil with their excellent PL-10 grease emulsified in it. This allows the grease to get where it is needed. I like that oil is used as a carrier rather than solvent...oil hangs around and lubricates...solvent goes into the air. It also contains an excellent EP add, which is not common in light oils. Works great on my lead screw door opener as an example. My doors/hood/locks have never been smoother.
