Put the receipt in a small ziploc type freezer bag (heavier weight plastic) and slip alongside battery in car or tape to battery. I've removed 5-year old Walmart batteries and the receipts were still readable stored like that. However, also write the date on the label with a sharpy so it is easy to tell how old the thing is when working on the car. If in doubt, replace before the winter!
