Hello I been using the OEM Nissan filter since 2009. I was about to run out so I looked around and found a box of 12 of the Champ filters on eBay for $19 with free shipping. This is about 1 inch shorter than my OEM but seem to work well so far. I am no expert by any means but I cut one open so you guys can let me know what you think. Sorry but I am unable to upload the pictures, maybe you guys could help me? Thank you.

At about $1.60 a filter, I think you did well. It sounds like the 6607 sized filter verses the 7317 sized OEM filter. (Fram numbers) From what I've seen, these are good 3000 to 5000 mile filters and are not e-cores. I say: Use them.

Thank you for your replies. I have pictures of the filter cut open. The OEM is longer buy 1 and 1/4 inches. The CHAMP filter looks good has metal end caps but can't seem to find a way to upload these for others to see and tell me if they are good or not. Also I agree for the price was to good to pass up! The CHAMP filters are PH2876 I assume the PH6607 is about the same in size. I don't use FRAM though and now they own Champion Labs so I was interested. Thank you

Looks like a decent cheap filter to me, I wouldn't pay more than $3 or so for it. Media looks like it's probably on the thinner side. The excess glue on the end caps wouldn't bother me, but the sloppyness might bother some people. I can't tell what's circled in blue below, looks like it might be extra glue from the end caps.

I would have no problem using those filters. I wouldn't feel comfortable pushing them past 5,000mi or so though.

I bought a M1 cartridge filter for my Landcruiser earlier this week in an Advance Auto M1 oil change deal.

The base caps on it were loaded with glue.

$20.99 filter if you bought it off the shelf.

Worth about $7.

Probably cost Advance Auto $4.50 wholesale.

Yes that is excess glue. I cut these open so people could see the value. I will use it only to 4k with Mobil 1 Synthetic. I have been changing my oil since 2010, since my free oil changes ran out! I mean if someone could buy 12 oil filters cheap on line verses $5 dollars or more a pop, then I hope this will inform the users of this CHAMP quality at this time.

What you basically got is the shorty version (6607) of the 14610/7317 size. They would be very similar to or same as the old Wally Super Tech filters, and current STP and Fram Defense filter line.

I wouldn't be too concerned about a little extra potting material on the media. And these are a budget filter. Below is a link to the longer Super Tech 7317 cut open in the past. While I'm not fond of going to the shorter14612/6607 filter size, Nissan oddly does spec them in many applications where the longer 14610/7317 will easily fit.

No thanks on the 10k! I run %65 around town miles, verses %35 highway miles. But I have once went 5k, but that is the max. $25 dollars for 5 quart Mobil 1 and a $1.60 for the filter which is way cheaper than $5k motor in my vehicle!

I have always thought M1 Oil filters were way over priced.... I have seen some cut open and the glue on 90% of them was not done in a what I would call a proffessioan manner and not one that justify s the price.

I think a Motorcraft Filter is much better then any M1 oil filter IMO.

There is just nothing special about them.

K and N I really dont like. .but its special b/c some people have heck of time getting off the oil filter but K & N has the built in NUT so in some cases it might justify the cost.

but M1 oil filter.. I cant think of any reason to spend all that $.
