A couple Seafoam questions

1) If I pour 2-4 ounces of Seafoam down the PCV hose (going into the intake manifold) and start up the car, is there any chance of hydrolocking the engine due to all that liquid getting sucked in? Or is it much safer if I add the Seafoam as the engine is idling?

2) I've heard about that infamous "Seafoam smoke," my question is, is that smoke caused by the pure Seafoam burning or the burning of gross deposits that the Seafoam is cleaning up?

1. Yep there is a chance of locking up a motor when pouring any fluid into the engine. Stick with a running motor. Or, just dump the full bottle into a full tank of fuel.

2. Smoke, thats the seafoam burning.

1)i fail to see how introducing a petroleum based product to a manifold could hyrdrolock an engine. only a water based liquid can hydrolock something. petroleolock it maybe...

2)this is not asking for trouble. people do it all the time. i do it to my friends cars all the time. when they are not looking, i suck some ATF into the manifold and it smokes like a banshee from **** when they drive it off. not only is this not harmful, but it's dangum funny as ****.

3)i seafoam'd both my Volvo's this way, no ill effects.

Ive run seafoam in my truck, but have yet to see a super large cloud form...

I was sucking right up through the PCV hose... maybe I wasnt letting it suck up aggressively enough?!?

They don't run on water.
