I'm spending a few weeks in a home that is along one of the flight paths for the Santa Barbara Airport (SBA). This came overhead yesterday. Sorry for the grainy pictures:

There are occasional visits to SBA from bases along the coast, but this is the first time that I've seen this livery. I didn't have the time to check FlightAware when it showed up, but I'm curious to know what or whose it is.

Apparently you can own a V-22 but from reading it would have to be registered as an experimental aircraft.

Probably declared an emergency and needed to land at the nearest acceptable airport...those things are death traps.

You are near me. My mom was trying to take pictures of that one yesterday. My family moved here in 1968 because my grandparents were hired by Aero Spacelines to work on the Guppy. We love living under the flight plan, seriously we do.
