a/c refrigerant line snapped

So I went to the junk yard and got a used line assembly. Will I have to put pump oil into the compressor? If so, how much?

I doubt that you lost any (or much oil). as long as you did not need to replace the compressor I believe you will be fine.

If the refrigerant line had a sudden break, and the refrigerant escaped in a few seconds, you indeed lost a great deal of oil from the system and will want to replace at least 4 ounces. If the refrigerant was lost slowly, you do not need to add any oil.
