Until now I have found that most funnels are useless for transferring used oil into 5 quart oil plastic oil bottles for disposal. Just bought a Flotool Super Quick Fill Funnel #10714, color is red, at Wal Mart; about $4.00. It is not only good for pouring clean oil into engines, it's good for pouring used oil into the 5 quart bottles without making a mess. The portion of the funnel that goes into an engine's oil cap or into a 5 quart used oil bottle is larger in diameter than typical funnels so the funnel won't tip over or backup. Try one!

there is a company called fast funnel. They make paper disposable funnels that work great and are very cheap.

Prestone used to sell a funnel with their cooling system flush kits. It has a neck that would snap into the filler neck of a radiator and hold the funnel upright, plus let you fill above the neck to let the liquid push the air out of the radiator. I've had it for 20 years and I use it for EVERYTHING, including putting used oil in jugs for disposal. It also snaps into the oil fill hole on a couple of my engines. This is about as close to a replacement for it as I've seen.

I use cut off bottles as well. A plastic MMO bottle works very well for my vehicles. YMMV

yea, the flotool is cool. That's actually what my local Walmart uses. Easily "sits" in the filler hole of most any engine, not like the "classic" pointed funnels, where you got stick into the filler hole at an angle, to get them to "sit" hehe....well, on my 88 Aries anyways, I had one of those little yellow funnels under the hood for refilling my washer fluid (the reservoir is up towards the "back" of the hood where the hood hinges at, so it's hard to angle/aim the jug of fluid into the reservoir lol....the yellow funnel works great for the washer fluid, but NOT for the motor oil

But usually I just use a steady arm, and good aim, block the wind with my back and pour slowly

Seen the "Squeeze me" funnel at Walmart? AFAIK, I think it's actually made by Flo-Tool as well...but it's squishee and pliable, seems like a good funnel particularly for filling ATF......not so good for filling motor oil though,,,,as it is flimsy. Kind of reminds me of the "Form a Funnel" at the top of this forum hehe.

I got an awesome funnel at the local Dollar Daze that is big and round with a large opening that fits very snugly into washer fluid bottles and 5qt jugs. I love it. It drains super fast and holds a lot while it drains too!
