OK, So a few months ago I acquired a 99 Tracker aka Suzuki Vitara. Its the 2.0L with 150K on it. 4wd works great. Its not a great looking or riding vehicle. But it starts up every single time and gets me where I need to go. For awhile now I have noticed that when its at idle (approx 750 RPM) there is a bottom end engine knock. When I give it a little gas and bring the RPMs up, it goes away.
Anyone have any thoughts on this? Possible low idle oil pressure issue? Its a very distinct clunking/knocking from the bottom of the motor.

the oil filter could be causing this.Replace filter with a Napa or purolator.Use the standard filter from Napa or Puro..

It probably has a pretty loose bottom-end; bearing wear. There isn't enough oil pressure to keep the knocking at bay at idle. But when you raise the RPM and increase the pressure, there is.
