My father in law has a 99 corolla with 120k miles. 3 month, 3,000 miles oil changes since new. Pulled the valve cover, engine is clean. The valve seals are starting to go, a slight puff of blue smoke upon start is visible. What is a good additive for the oil to help the seals? I know there is no miracle fix but its a big job to change the valve seals for this motor and we want to make it last as long as possible.

+2 on the Valvoine Maxlife Blend 5w30.
My 99 Camry puffed the blue when I got it used.
After 7-10K with Maxlife, it's gone.......
Now after 20+ K miles I see no need to mess with the valve stem seals.

I would do an ARX Cleaning / Rinse phase then switch over to Valvoline Maxlife. The ARX will clean any debris and gunk from around the seals while softening them in the process. Then the Max-life will help to swell them a bit and cut back on the consumption. Good Luck!
