97 Taurus Stalls when Hot

Hey Fox,

Friend of my have 97 Taurus
Car Stalls when is Hot... ( car stalls when at stop or parked )

But when u are idling ... its ok .. but when u stop rpms will start drooping and car will die..

OBD2 reader showed O2 sensor dead ... Sensor was replaced
Premium Gas ... all the time...

any ideas ?

My wife's old '97 Expedition used to die at idle, right after we bought it with 65k miles on it. A quick check of the throttle body revealed a very dirty TB plate. I cleaned the entire TB, and never had the stalling problem again...FWIW

check the throttle, IAC and check for vacuum leaks.

No Vaccum Leaks smoke test done.

What is IAC ?

 

[OVERKILL]

Idle Air Control motor. It's a little pintle that slides back and forth and bypassed air by the throttle body blade to control the idle speed.
