Hi.
The 97 ford taurus, which is my brother's car, is needed to replace an alternator. Is it difficult? Would you let me know how to do it?
Thanks.

"Difficult" depends on your mechanical skills level! This particular job is pretty average for alternator replacement. Some are much quicker, some much harder. What've you replaced alts on in the past?

If it is the 3.0 Vulcan (12V), it is easy. Disconnect battery first, remove serp belt, alt connectors, and replace. Straightforward.

The DOHC 3.0 I seem to remember being a true PITA. I forget what I had to remove to get at the alt on that.

Would be a good idea to give the battery a serious evaluation.
If it is going bad, it could be placing a load on the alternator, and you would not want that to take out the new alternator.
