OIL Analysis Results
Check this out. Pretty interesting report. Anyone have any feedback?

94 Supra TT.. 80k miles....2350 miles on Mobil 1 10W30

"Your 94 Supra's engine is making quite a lot more lead and copper from the bearings, than
is typical of this type engine. We can't tell you for sure why since we found no harmful contamination
in the oil, which was physically normal for this type engine grade. You have hardly used up the active
additive in the oil after running 2,350 miles. The TBN was 5.0, still quite high. There is always the
compatibility issue of a synthetic oil with the materials used in the babbit of the bearings. To check
this possibility, you will need to change oil types. We really don't know!"

What's done to your car? Stock twins, single? How much boost do you run, what gas (pump premium, 100+ octane).

How do you drive it, road race, daily driver, drag racer?

Well, reports like that from a TT Supra is no surprise. Some guys have those 3L engines making 1k HP. I'm guessing the car above is making some serious power at very high RPMs.
Silicon seems elevated. I "theorize" this car has a K&N filter(s); couple that with a turbo set-up, and a lot of dirt "could" get past the filter.

My car is only making approx 400rwhp. I am freaked out by the numbers, but I'm not sure what to do. I run 17-18psi daily on 93 octane. Should I change my oil type?

I'd try Delvac 15w-40 (Walmart) and do another analysis. You might need more of a barrier with that much load on the bearings.

I also have a 94 Supra with similar mileage, ~450 rwhp, 19-20 psi on the stock turbos, and have much lower wear numbers using the same oil over similar OCI's. I run 100 octane 24/7 in my car.

What octane do you use? You may be hammering your crank & rod bearings with detonation given the boost levels you run. I know the knock sensors & ECU can do a good job of pulling timing, but they may not be able to pull enough depending on the octane of the gas you're using.

Justin, how many oil changes has there been since you ran race gas. I know we ran some VP red thru it last summer, and then the car sat for a long time. So I'm guessing 1 oil change. I'm bettin that where your lead is comming from. There's no way that engine is chewing up the bearings. I definately wouldn't use mobil 1 5w-30 though. Inspect your intake for leaks as well, thats alot of silicon for such a short OCI.

No, I don't use any additives in the gas tank. I run 93 Octane all the time, but I am in the turbos quite a bit. This is the second oil change since we ran race gas. I also had that overboost problem, which caused my second turbo to choke out 3 or 4 times until I figured out what the problem was.

The VP red we ran in it last summer was leaded, hence the nice white coating on the tail pipe. This batch of oil replaced the oil that was in it at that time. Since you can't totally remove all the oil in a single change there would have been some left behind. There's your high lead reading, not from bearings from the fuel.
