94 F 150 8.8 rear end lube replace

Going to change rear end lube on my bought new 94 F 150 4.9 for first time (110k miles). I bought the Victor Reinz 711481000 cover gasket. It is fairly thick and kind of looks like it may have some cork content. I have some gasket shellac and also some Permatex no. 2 non hardening type gasket sealer on hand. Does anyone have recommendations regarding the use of either of these sealers on the gasket during installation?

When I last changed the gear oil a couple years back on my Ford 8.8, I used a Fel Pro gasket and applied # 2 Permatex on the cover side of the gasket to hold it in place during installation. No leaks.

I changed mine years ago and just used some black rtv on the cover and haven't had any leaks..

Same as Lubener above on my Ford 7.5 diff. Fel-pro gasket + a bit of permatex
