Hi, first post here. These forums are insane, i never knew oil was such a big deal.

Well I have a problem with my 94 Acura Legend. It's consuming oil like a monster. It has about 120k miles on it and consumes at least 2 quarts every 3000 miles. This was a problem around 90k miles and we switched oils and it stopped. Now it has reappeared. Any ideas on what to do or what oil to use? Thanks for your help.

Have someone follow you down the road..when you let your foot off the gas ( with the rpms at say 4000 ) does blue smoke come out the tail pipe ...if so ..vlave guides...if you floor it and blue smoke comes out..rings ..which case as long as the damage is not mechanical in nature you may want to try Auto-rx ...it really is amazing stuff

I have a 92 legend.
I've had the oil in for about 11000km's/6500miles and I used about 1.5L total so far.
I've tried auto-rx with this vehicle and to be honest, did not see/notice a difference.
What did make a huge difference to visual engine cleanliness was using a gas/diesel rated engine oil.
how's your pcv valve, I know that if you have non oem, there are some issues.
check this forum for good info on this vehicle.

Ok, just found out some more details about the car. There is no smoke coming out of the car, no funny noises or anything out of the ordinary. The oil has been changed by walmart every 3-4k miles since 80k. We just changed the oil recently to castrol gtx 10w-40 with stp filter. Hopefully this will help with the oil being consumed. But i bought some auto-rx just in case. Any ideas what could be drinking up my oil?
