What weight oil should one use in a 7.3 in a 1992 F250 Lariat?

15w40. The guys on the diesel forums say that they drink the rotella. Mine Drank the rotella 5w40 like it was free.

Being in Canada, you should at least try a 5w-40 to help with startup. Rotella, Delo, Mobil 1 or Delvac, etc. 15w40 makes for some rough starts when it's -30F out.

They start easier on 5w40.

5w40 T6 if you can get it. Any 0w40/5w40 diesel spced oil should work well.Check the condition of the GP system and make sure it's 100%. Make sure you have no fuel leaks as they will make a diesel hard to start. Check the block heater and replace the cord if needed. I'd plug her in at least 10 hours before you start it. You may want a timer for the block heater.
