9011 and 9012 Beam Shots

Here are pictures of the 9011 and 9012 bulbs in my Buick's stock headlamps. The 9012 low beams are fed by a relay harness.

The high beams are excellent on back roads late at night. The low beams are some of the best I've driven with.

So a wire harness supplies the bulb with a better/direct source of power? Does it make the light output greater?

Your high beams look like they have a ton of upward spillage. Let me know how they work in the fog.

The high beams do scatter light everywhere. The reflector isn't very well controlled with stock 9005's. Adding 800 more lumens to the equation doesn't do much for scatter. It does make for excellent deer spotters! Nothing like seeing the buggers 15 seconds down the road at 60 mph.

The 9012's are far better than 9006's in the fog. There's enough light to punch the beam far enough so one can see something useful instead of only indicating one's position.

And what yahoo would be silly enough to drive with high beams on in the fog? Oh wait, common sense isn't so common anymore...
