Harness for Low Beams Only?

I drive a LeSabre with independent high beam and low beam bulbs (9005 high/9006 low).

What risks, if any, would I entail by just putting the low beams on a relay harness and leaving the high beams fed by the stock wiring?

Reasons for doing this are: keeping the high-beam DRL's that a full harness would eliminate and not wanting to dicker with the high beams, as they are quite good as is.

update:

After following through with purchase and installation of a harness for the low beams only, I must say I am thoroughly impressed with the amount of light available just by upgrading the wiring. Much more light, longer beam throw, and a slightly whiter light. And all the little refinements present in my Buick still work as they should.

Excellent news. With very little cost you can get much better result if you know what is needed and do it correctly.

Can I ask where you bought your wiring harness? Also, I would highly recokend the 9012 HIR bulbs. I got mine for $10 at my local John Deere dealer. They are a nice upgrade, see my post in the pictures section.

Off of Ebay. It was a 9006 "HID relay" harness. Designed for providing cleaner power to HID ballasts, with no provision for the high beams like a traditional headlight harness.

Those HIR bulbs look mighty appealing. Maybe a springtime modification.

Update: After 7 months running the harness and 9005 bulbs, everything is still working as it should. Lots of light, highbeam DRL's work fine, and the regular highbeams work fine.
