9006 to H11

I looked up the specs and came up with these results:
Type Watts Lumens
H11 50 1200
9006 55 1000
9005 65 1800

I am curious what would be the benifit? You get an extra 200 lumens for a bit of hassle in the modification and a higher priced bulb. The H11 bulbs are not as plentiful to buy either.

A better price/preformance modification would be to trim the tabs on a 9005 and enjoy a more than 55% increase from a bulb that is the same price.

So you're not trying to fit H1 bulbs into a lamp that takes 9006, right? You're switching to headlamps that use H1 bulbs and you need a new connector to be able to hook up the 9006 connector to the H1 bulb. Is that the problem?

I was just introduced to the H11 as the low beam on my sierra takes one. $24/bulb and 1 hour's labor to replace (have to move the 2nd battery.

Conveniently for me it was covered by warranty, and they were late in delivering, so I got a free 12L oil change on my truck too.

Interestingly, according to the hour meter on my truck, the light burned out at 1530.5 hours. I know that because it's on all the time due to DRL's.
