OCI: Bosche filter, 4 qt. AA 5W30 SM (had a jug on hand), 1 QT 15W40 Rotella SJ for zinc, and a half-quart of leftover 10W30 High Mileage Pennzoil. 8 oz. of VSOT.

Capacity of 5.5 qt with new filter. Car specs 10W30 SG all seasons.

Combo of oils too freaky, or okie dokie?

Was hoping. Figured come December, I'll drop this brew out and do M1 with the same Bosche filter and run it out to next fall, 2007 (anticipated mileage, 5K, if that).

These filters are pretty stout, yes? No?

Yeah, Bosch filters are okay, but why not run an AC Delco filter instead? They're only about $3.50 at O'Reilly Auto Parts. (Not sure if you have those in VA.)

Bosch filters if I remeber correctly they are made by champion labs. I don't see why it wont last 5K. Just make sure once a month you get the oil up to operating tempature to burn off the insolubules.

O'Reilly, eh. Vic?

No, not here. We're saddled with Advanced (a worthless load of a store), Auto Zone (better, but nothing to write home about), and a few locals. A couple of Pep Boys twenty miles from here. That's it, other than the Stealerships.

Oh, and as for the AC Delco filters, AA didn't carry em for the Caddy, nor did the AZ I went to. Was going to buy PureOne at AA, but the clerk was going to keep me waiting at the register until she "priced these last 10 or 15 spots on the shelf". I left about $30.00 worth of stuff on the counter and walked out and the miserable cow could not have cared less.

AZ only had Bosche, STP and K&N. Bosche was close enough, no waiting.
