800 mi on Maxlife 5W30, no consumption?

I'm 800 mi into my Maxlife 5W30 + Purolator PP filter run, and the dipstick is still full. Usually, my oil level would've dropped a bit by now...

I also notice that my consumption (in the past) usually begins after about 1500 mi on the oil.

But I don't ever recall the dipstick staying full after 800 miles into the oil.

Does Maxlife has some magic elixir in it?

Yes... The "Magic" is that it's a great oil that does not get very much attention.

Yeah, let's see how it holds up. I'm betting that consumption will start to appear in 500 mi or so. I'll keep you guys posted.

The only reason I'm using this oil is because it was free. Otherwise, I wouldn't spend $2/qt for it if I can get Chevron 5W30 for 1/4 of that amount.

I'd surely like to know where I can get Chevron in Colorado for less then $1/quart. Out here the only place you can buy it is Checker and it's definitely more then $1/qt

Ramblin, Checker sends me ads in the mail with the $1.09 coupon which leads to the $.59 after rebate price. Usually, when the rebate deal is on, they'll have the ads right there at the counter. If not, I could send you the coupon so you can do the rebate and then I'd assume you'll get on the mailing list. I think that's how I got on it.

Before, they use to have a Sunday Newspaper ad with the deal.
