Replaced with the same Wix filter and John Deere HyGard fluid.

Thanks, I know there is chatter on the internet and seen some references 15w-50 for some applications. I doubt that JD Hygard is that viscous though?.

Yes it is LV. 0-100 degree temp range at the extreme ends.

Cannot use motor oil in this transmission. Hygard low viscocity used for this application.

If it's a Tuff Torq transaxle then they (Tuff Torq) might recommend their synthetic 5w50 fluid but Deere almost always recommends HyGard/LV which is a high quality GL4 THF.
