From the link - includes $3500 customer cash. $7900+$3500=$11,400 + $750 most people won't qualify for brings you to $12,150.

No thanks.

Back in 1994 I bought a Civic Coupe DX that did NOT have power steering, radio, speakers, AC, clock...and of course it was a manual. Coming from an Olds Cutlass it felt like a go cart. Many oem accessories could be added at the dealer which I had them put in ac, radio, 4 speakers, clock, mudguards, floor mats, chrome exhaust finisher, hubcaps from an LX. The DX version of the sedan didn't have a passenger side view mirror. After tax of around 6% and $2k for the Cutlass it was $10,500 out the door.

Four and half years later traded it in on a 99 Accord coupe...what a difference! The only bad part was filling up a 17 gallon tank instead of a 10 gallon or so tank.

Sounds like my 84 Tercel, except I also had no carpeting and it was a 4 speed stick. I loved that car though. It was a small hatch but it could carry two road bikes without taking the front wheels off and had a ton of legroom and a very comfortable seat and driving position, 40 mpg was easy in mixed driving. It was about 3600$ if I remember correctly. I didn't get anything added on as accessories. St. Louis was fun in the summer - 100 degrees and no AC.

Sounds like my dad's Geo Metro, 2 door hatch, Kermit the frog green. I think he paid $7K for it back in the mid 90's, it was new.

3 cylinder, 4 speed manual ( I believe), no A/C, No radio, No floor mats, No cruise, really bare bones...

That car didn't last long, I think he kept it 2 years tops. It was a chore to drive on the highway. In fact, now that I think about it, he hated it so much he never changed the oil or did any maintenance on it! We always did oil changes etc together, bonding time I really enjoyed.

I really liked the Tercel (except for no AC). It was at a bout 130k miles with no problems when a drunk with a big pick up ran a stop sign and T-boned it.

I commute 21 miles one way on I-70 thru Denver 5 days a week.Every time I see a car blowing smoke 9 out of 10 times its a Mitsubishi product.

All manual Metro's were available with only a 3 speed auto or 5 speed manual.

Ha, $3500 customer cash, ha! Obviously, this is intended for poorly educated customers! Unfortunately hey don't have $3500 burning hole in their pocket.

But the most important question:- are we talking Canadian dollars or actual real money here?

Which models?

Must be some we don't get here in Europe asnone of the mitsubishis we sold and/or Maintain belch smoke. I know of 1 that uses oil (except for the VAG engined Mitsubishis who ALL use about 1 quart per 5000 miles) but even that one makes the end of the oci without adding oil.

Hyundais on the other hand....

That's how Mitsubishi's communicate to each other - smoke signals....

I notice them. They seem to be very gradually be gaining steam around here. I would like to try one with a stick. Kind of spiffy looking and I like the third world vibe. I have no idea what they cost in real life.

Good safety ratings. 7 airbags.

Kind of a runabout.

Cpt Barkey will never believe that you were actually in your Tercel when it was t-boned.
You must be posting from your own grave, as he thinks all cars smaller than an Abrams tank are death traps if hit by anything bigger than a Schwinn 10 speed.

Come on, admit that the only way you were actually t-boned in your Tercel and survived is because the "big pickup" that hit you was actually a Subaru BRAT.

ADMIT IT!!!!

BC.

I think you mean I3's were only in 3AT or 5MT. Had to think about that for a moment.

Use and abuse, and throw away when done. Sounds like they sell the drivetrain (and much of the car) elsewhere in the world, so parts may be cheap and plentiful for years to come.
