'75 CJ5 AMC 304 oil?

I would check your local Auto Zone for clearance oils. Lots of 10w-40 High Mileage oils on clearance for $2/qt.

If not that, then I would just go with some Supertech 15w40 and call it a day.

I have a 1978 CJ7 with the 258 and a 1977 CJ7 with the 304. My 258 is modified with Clifford performance parts and runs circles around the stock 304. I run Mobil 1 10w30 in both.
