I was replacing all the bulbs in the rear light assemblies in my 2008 Suburban after one burned out. The backup light bulbs are 7441. My local Indie parts store didn’t have them and neither did Canadian Tire. A quick check on the net suggested a 7443 could be substituted for a 7441. Canadian Tire did have that one and I purchased a pack of two and did both light assemblies.
It turns out they did fit and function correctly. The 7443 has an extra filament in it that is not used in this application. Not sure what vehicle uses this bulb or why a large parts store would stock it and not the single filament bulb. Anyway this is now confirmed on the net. Also, a 7440 will fit but has bit fewer watts.
By the way, the bulb that burned out was a 3057 Sylvania Long Life that lasted only two years.
Good luck.
