Long time listener first time caller. I am preparing to overhaul the 6L90 transmission in my 2012 GMC 2500 and came across the following product:
I am curious if anyone has had any experience using this stabilizer kit. Runs about $500 for the complete kit through most parts suppliers. I haven't been able to find much information on it beyond the video and a couple advertisements for it.

The Center support houses the 2-6 & Low/Reverse Clutches, Failure of these 2 is quite rare in the whole scheme of things.

The Sonnax Zip Kit has inserts to deal with seal blowout & It doesn't cost $500.

Seal blowout IS NOT caused by the center support moving around a little....It's caused by pressure spikes from Pressure Regulator Valve wear., The PR Valve & modification outlined in the ZIP Kit will correct pressure spikes.

Just getting back to working on this. I will be using a new OE pump cover and torque converter housing. I plan to install Sonnax parts 6L80-LB1 boost valve, 104520-15K pressure regulator valve and 104534-HD slide spring in the pump. Also planning to use 104984-01 1234 heavy duty piston, 104960-01k 456 piston kit, 104584LP lube dame along with new bushings and bearings. The torque converter will be getting a GM-RK-21 billet clutch kit.
A few questions: What are your thoughts on GPZ frictions? Bonded pistons, performance blue vs standard? Do you know what updates if any Sonnax performs on GM6L90L reman valve body? I would assume it would have the 8th check ball and updated separator plate as it is listed as fitting 10-later applications and anything 14 on should have the 8th check ball. Does it get any zip kit or oversized valve kits? also, thoughts on installing an inline filter in the cooler return? I will be replacing the cooler and radiator.

I reman my own 6L valve bodies using a Sure Cure kit, Buy new GM & install a ZIP Kit, And bastardize good valve bodies together using a ZIP kit.

Most Sonnax remans will come with a full Sure Cure kit installed.

If this is a stock build (Stock engine)....You don't need to upgrade the 4-5-6 Clutch, 4-5-6 Clutch failure can usually be traced back to a Pressure/Control issue.

Use stock/OE Borg Warner Frictions & new OE/Delco Steels where needed!! The aftermarket BW Friction Module is identical to OE.
OE/Delco Pistons.

I steer clear of Raybestos if I can at all help it.

I have been having trouble finding the GM pump cover 24289721. Seems to be on indefinite back order. Is AC Delco 24248573 interchangeable?

It is....721 replaced 573, Meaning at best a 573 would be new old stock.
Does the 573 use the updated stator support with the non-rotation rings? Funny that the old part number is still in stock while the 721 is out of stock everywhere I have checked.
