In the Garage...
So we traded our old 07 in for this one.
Let me first say we drove a RAV-4, CRV, and Escape. We got the best deal on the Equinox and liked it the most.

We are currently at 4200 miles. It is a 2LT not fully loaded but nicely appointed.

It has been great! We have seen 28ish mpg on the Highway and 20ish in town. We do lots of short trips with it and right now we are at 22.4mpg average.

It has been comfortable. We really like the seats.
The brakes are very nice, much better than that last gen Equinox and they have a better feel then the RAV-4 and CRV we drove.

Steering is much better than the last one and to me feels like all the other small SUVs. I does feel pretty stable...for what it is.

Seats are similar to neoprene and clean up easy...If you have messy little ones you can appreciate that. Instruments are easy to read.

The 4 Cylinder is adequate. It is not what I would consider powerful, but it moves this one as good as the 3.4 moved the old 07. I don't see much of difference in fuel economy over the old 3.4.
I really like this automatic. I feel it adapts well and is much smoother and crisp than the Aisin that old one had.

All the small SUVs we drove moved out at about the same pace...
Adequate.

My Link, Eh. I like the blue tooth, but it, to me, is busy and you have a lot of screens to navigate everything. I don't use any of it, neither does the wife. I do like having the USB connection. I would not got it with My Link if we were buying another one.

The fan for the climate control is pretty loud when in high.

Best thing about it is very smooth and quiet when driving. Just as quiet as any new car I have ridden in. The fan is very quiet when not on high. A/C is cold. I do wish the vents had a bit more control.
I have not been able to try out the AWD yet, but winter is coming.

Overall we love the vehicle and I would buy another at this price point.

Yep, GM really turned around. From having throwaway smaller vehicles to having very competitive ones like your 'Nox. I really can't think of a segment where GM is not very competitive now these days.

Good, straight-forward review. I've heard good things about them. Tell me, how do you like the visibility? Is it one of those cars where you need a closed circuit TV to drive it safely?

Seems like GM is really trying...If the resale value got a lot better, and they had across the board reliability then I would really consider one.

Visibility, is much better in this generation...but it still has large pillars that create a blind spot in the rear.

Front and side is very good.

This does come with a backup camera which has come in handy. I never wanted one but after this one I got one for the truck and trailer as a kit. Best money spent for camping.

Nice review.

I was pleasantly surprised when my Daughter and I shopped the segment recently. The GMC/Chevy products stacked up very well to the competition.

Now we just need to see some higher miles, Mike. Get out there and DRIVE it!

My good friend has an '11 Equinox that he bought on my recomendation compared to the CR-V, RAV4 & Escape that he was considreing.

His is the 4 cyl/FWD ONLY and very well appointed though, not loaded.

The blind spots are bad but, the NOX does everything well beyond that, IMHO!

He is also getting ~26-28 mpg city and this is one of the quietest vehicles I've been in. Much quieter and better riding over ruts than my wifes '01 Lexus RX but, there is 10 years difference in age

Comfort and room are quite good as well and the Nox is probably the most grownup feeling CUV, compared to otheres in it's catigory, again IMHO!

I had the GMC version (2011 Terrain) and thought it was an excellent vehicle. It was like riding in a vault - it was silent inside and really gave you a feeling of stability and quality.

I sold the Terrain when I relocated from NV to PA, I paid 28.5k OTD and sold it for 25.5k when it was 2 years old and had 20k on it. Not too shabby!

My only complaint was the 3.0 V6, I felt it had less power than a V6 should have. GM corrected this in 2013 by using the 3.6 instead, and the fuel economy numbers even remained the same.

It's the wife's, I drive it once a week maybe. She is very happy with it. We don't go far and if we do it is usually camping which means the 3/4 ton gets called into service.
