Greetings,
I have a 6.5l TD and it calls for a CG-4 oil 15w 40. I have always used a 15w 40 but would like to switch to a 5w 40 year round.
My manual says not to try other viscosity oils such as 10w-40 or 20w-50. It does say a 10w30 can be used in colder climates which does qualify me.
But again I want to use a 5w 40 year round synthetic.
Would a 5w 40 with the newer CI-4 Plus readings be fine to use? The CI-4 Plus meets the CG-4 requirements as called for in my manual, but how about the 5w?
Thanks
