one valve cover not to bad but the other is by the firewall. Sideways v6 with the intake manifold hanging over the cover makes it not worthwhile to remove. I'm aware of the 3.0 layout. Do you think both have to come off to see if the engine has sludge? If it were me, I would take the 20 minutes to pull the easy one off rather than spend time with a thread like this, buying specific oil and filters, and doing more changes. It is the most unseasonably warm winter I can remember on the east coast. The short changes are creating more work for you than pulling that valve cover off.
