Been awhile since I posted but I stop by all the time. Just bought a 2013 F150 with the 5.0 liter engine. It has 17000 miles on it.Whats the general opinion of Motorcraft oil is it pretty good stuff? I am refering to the semi synthtic blend thanks
MC 5W-20 was once the darling of this site, but that luster has worn off some now that it costs a lot more. Still a darn good oil, though. I use it in my sister's and BIL's Toyotas and am switching back to it in my DD at the next OCI (once the free jug of M1 is done).
Pennzoil conventional is about the "best" 5w20 you can get unless you want a synthetic. Although there isn't really a best oil, its definitely top of the line.

Thanks for the chart, but can you help a novice understand the importance of the categories and the numbers? To my untrained eye, they all appear to be in "spec" other than NextGen

The SOPUS products have lower NOACK, which means less volatility loss. All else being equal, this makes them a better product.
I used MC 5-20 in my 04 5.4 3V F150 for some time. Great oil. I'd still use it but I'm not driving as much and want to make the move to 1 per year OCI so went M1 Extend now. I did UOA and 5500k was still returning very good numbers in my ride.
Can't go wrong with Pennzoil Conventional 5w20 either. Use either of em with confidence.
