5W20 VS 5W30

At the risk of further stirring the pot the van get's the 0w-20 because it's under warranty, the CUV gets 5-30 because I basically have a lifetime supply I got free after rebate. I'm sure if I made a mistake and mixed them up both vehicles would immediately burst into flames the moment I backed off the ramps.

You know,I have heard a lot of reasons as to why you must not use 5W30 when it calls for 5W20,but I have never heard that one before.You think it's possible?

It's more than possible. It's happened to me. Twice. Yup. Didn't even get it off the ramps before the engine exploded. It took the entire neighborhood with it, I survived because I was hiding behind a potted plant at the time. They act as excellent protection against oil viscosity (and anti-matter) related explosions.

That's a darn shame.All that oil gone to waste.The plant didn't get oil on it,did it? If so,did it survive?
